Kick ass artists, and good friends, family
A lot of people like POTO because he’s sexy, thanks to the 04 movie, or they just like the music or theatrics. Erik saved my life if it wasn’t for him and his story and I mean the novel, I would be dead. So if I appear a little defensive that’s why. Erik is more then a movie or great special effects to me; bellow his mask lies the heart of a tragic man who was different and hurt by society and outcasted. A man I connect to on a spiritual level. I don’t like superficial Phans I’m sorry, this Isn’t just a passing fad for me. I have been a Phan for 18 years. I'm sorry but if you don't appreciate Gaston Leroux you are a fool he is the one who wrote the story you are so in love with so respect the man. Know thy roots!!!

dwAt or duat as you wrote it. w and u are the same. Actually normally means morning. As in dwAw neter meaning morning star. Neter is a loose term for god. dwAt sometimes is used as the word for underworld literally meaning house of stars in english. The underworld is also refereed to as Amenti and ntr ḫrt or neter Xert pronounced Khert. There is multiple words for multiple meanings for most things. The word Xr or khert literally means under. So the word for underworld that you questioned me about, literally means the underworld of the gods.

Holy moses, that's fascinating. While I've always been an Egypt fan (really more New Kingdom/Amarna/Hatshepsut) I've tried cracking into a language book a few times and it was major fail. I've also just gotten the feeling that it's just conjecture how you actually pronounce ancient Egyptian.
One last question: Is modern Coptic so far removed from ancient Egyptian that it would be unintelligible? I've always wondered about that one. Anyway, thanks!

You know I took a look at Coptic a while back it's some what related. It's about as similar as Mexico spanish to Spain spanish. Sounds a lot the same, but the words are not really the same.
It's hard cracking Egyptian. I just put my foot down and forced myself to learn it. It's hard because it's like learn 4 languages in one. You have to learn the Gardiner code which is how the glyphs are documented it's a small coding system, then the transliteration which is the the pronunciation which sadly changed from country to country as example ȧri and ỉrỉ it loosely means create but it's the same word just written differently. And then you have to learn the hieroglyphics and there visual meaning and hidden meanings. It's a tough cookie to crack, but very rewarding, well at least I think it is.

Wow. Phantom of the opera...AND ancient Egypt? Thanks for watching me, and now I'm watching you!
P.S...ironically my model has a Phantom mask because he was Erik for Halloween this year. He told me and asked me if I wanted him to bring it, given the similar subject of the shoot, but I declined because I figured there was no audience for it. Whoops.

Oddly I didn't watch yah cause of the Phantom ref although I am currently using one of you photos for a phantom manip. But it is darn hard to find good stock of people's backs. Not too often do I need it. But I liked the fact you paid attention to the back as well as the front.

The frame with the smiling V on your avatar always makes you seem amused when it is the frame that is showing. And you are so easygoing, so the avatar is an accurate indicator of your mood usually.
